Born and raised in New Orleans and South Louisiana, I grew up hunting and fishing the vast marshes of Louisiana’s “Sportsman’s Paradise” – AKA the Redfish Capital of the World!
Like most fishermen in South Louisiana, my dad used to take me freshwater fishing for Bass and Brim from the time I was able to hold a fishing pole. I was in my teens when I first fished for Speckled Trout and Redfish with an uncle in Slidell and I was hooked! Every opportunity to fish from then on, I headed straight to saltwater. When I got my own boat at 19, I started exploring Hopedale, Delacroix and Venice, Louisiana.
Learning something new every time I went out on the water, it became my passion to figure out why and what made some days more productive than others. To this day, I can’t seem to ever get enough of that feeling and desire to learn what makes those awesome fish tick!
About 10 years ago, I started fishing Redfish Tournaments. Being able to spend such great amounts of time on the water has increased my knowledge tenfold, and has made me a true student of the sea. Learning about Redfish, Bull Reds, and Speckled Trout migration patterns, feeding patterns and preferred diet based on the time of year is rewarding and exciting! Most importantly, I have learned to read the water and water conditions such as tide currents and phases of the moon in order to increase my chances of finding and catching a variety of fish.
With over 30 years of experience, and a passion for fish, I’m confident that we will catch fish!
