On a typical day of fishing with L.A. Charters, we leave the marina at safe daylight and return between 1:30 and 2 p.m.

Fall and winter fishing is excellent in the Venice area. Starting in October, the big trout show up in numbers, and the redfish really turn on. In short, the fishing is terrific throughout October, November, December and, depending on river stages, January. If you're ready for some fast-and-furious action, then make plans now.

Spring and summer offer opportunities to catch that fish of a lifetime. The fish are moving in on the beaches to spawn, and the close-in oil rigs and wellheads of the Gulf are teeming with big fish. Trophy trout are caught on topwater and plastics at this time of year, and the topwater bite can be awesome.

With virtually year-round opportunities for outstanding action, the waters of Venice offer the absolute best in light-tackle saltwater fishing. Call today to book a fishing trip of a lifetime (225) 761-9954 or (225) 268-9616.

L.A. Charters customers will have the pleasure of fishing from a 24-foot Bay Champ by Champion Boats. This craft is considered to be one of the premier bay boats on the market today. You will fish in comfort with plenty of room to move around the boat. The boat is powered by a 250 horsepower Yamaha outboard, which means we spend less time traveling to locations and more time fishing! You will find that fishing from a quality boat and using quality equipment will make for a more pleasurable fishing experience.

L.A. Charters provides:
•Quality rods and reels (Shimano bait-casting reels and Shimano spinning reels). Of course, if you have a favorite rod and reel, you are more than welcome to bring it along. (I suggest at least a 6-foot, 6-inch, medium-action rod.)
•Artificial lures
•Fuel for the boat
•Ice for drinks and fish
•A licensed, professional captain

The cost is $550 for 1 to 3 anglers; $700 for 4 anglers.

What you bring:
•Basic resident fishing license and saltwater license. (If you are from out of state, tell the retailer you will be fishing with a licensed guide. Guide number 203493028)
•48-quart ice chest and gallon-size zip-lock bags to take your fish home
•Food and drinks
•Hat and sunglasses
•Foul-weather gear

Many of our guests spend the night in Venice before and/or after their charter. There are a number of places to stay that are nearby the marina. If you'd like for us to make arrangements for your overnight accommodations, let us know when you call to book your trip.
