Captain Shawn Scott

Capt. Shawn Scott, owner/operator of Yigo Charters, grew up mainly fishing fresh water.  Not originally from Louisiana, it did not take long to develop a desire to chase Speckled Trout and Red Fish. I love taking friends and family fishing and always enjoy the smile of folks when they either catch fish till they are worn out, or that Big Bull Redfish.

All my inshore fishing started around Cypermort Point, Marsh Island and Burns Point.  Fishing is really good in these areas, but is seasonal depending on the Wax Outlet and the Atchafalaya River.  Once the water start to rise, it brings in so much fresh water, the fish become scarce.

The last few years I began fishing around the Dulac/Cocodrie area.  The fishing is so good and consistent we extended ourselves and acquired a lodge in Dulac so we can frequent the area more often and do what we love, Catch Fish!

Fishing is year around in South Louisiana, with certain seasons being better than others.  Personally, the fall and early winter cannot be beat, and April and May are as good as it gets also.

Working with a network of Captains, we can accommodate your needs both small and large groups.   We have lodging available, that easily sleeps 8, and can accommodate up to groups of 12.

So come and experience what south Louisiana has to offer and book your trip of a lifetime, call 337-256 7859

We mainly target speckled trout, or redfish, can all be caught year around, but again some months are considerably more productive than others.

Should you prefer to fish the Cypermort Point Vermillion Bay or Burns Point, that can also be accommodated, occasionally I will fish these areas just to stay in touch with where it all started.

Fishing License:

A fishing license is required for all persons over age 16.  Louisiana allows visitors a 3 day resident or non-resident charter passenger license. Persons who fish from a charter vessel in saltwater areas of the state, with a licensed guide on board at all times, may possess a Charter Passenger License at a cost of $10.00 that is valid for three consecutive days. Charter guide license number or mothership license must be provided when purchasing charter passenger licenses.

You may obtain a license by the following:

  2. Call  toll free 1-888-765-2602
  3. Any place that sells licenses.

Charter Trip:Typically, we will leave the dock around 30 minutes before sunrise.  Expect a 20 minute to an hour boat ride.  We will generally fish 8 hours, but that may be adjusted accordingly, just depends the situation.

Fishing Rods: All rods provided are spinning combinations.  If you prefer your own gear you are more than welcome to bring along.  Feel free to call and discuss.  As a general rule, normally do not carry bait casters.
